SUMMARY:Kathy Miners - Metro Hoops Curved Quilt
DESCRIPTION:This contemporary wedding ring quilt pattern starts with strip sets that are straight pieced which makes the entire process quicker and easier than traditional wedding ring patterns which use templates. In class you’ll learn how to sew curved pieces that are cut using the Quick Curve ruler and end up with this beautiful wedding ring style quilt. This pattern allows you to square up all of your curve blocks before piecing\, allowing for an easy and accurate assembly. And if you’re like Kathy\, you might just have a 2½” jellyroll sitting in your sewing room unused. Once you master the quick curve cutting method\, you can make any of their beautifully curved quilt designs. \nClass fee is $35.00 for MSQG Guild Members and for $45.00 non-members. Please note that all class fees will increase by $10 if received AFTER Feb 13th\, 2027. The supplies list will be provided to students after they register for the class. Space is limited so don’t wait to register! Class will be held at the Live Oak Grange\,120 Gardiner\, Rogue River\, OR\, 97537. \nTo Register:  You can obtain the registration form (with pricing information) by clicking here.  Just print and complete the form then mail it along with your payment to the address on the form. Your payment MUST accompany your registration. \nKathy’s interest in quilting began around 1998\, when her local knitting shop closed and she needed a new\nhobby. Little did she know\, a few years later she would be the owner of that local quilt shop. She was fortunate to be the owner for 9 years\, before retiring and moving to southern Oregon.

SUMMARY:Laura Owens - Playful Portraits
DESCRIPTION:This class by Laura Owens is designed to take you to a different style and a new freedom in quilting. Laura hopes it will encourage fresh ideas and create opportunities for us to connect\, inspire one another\, and celebrate our quilting fun.\nThis is an Improv Class that will break all the rules you think you know about quilting. There is no wrong or right way\, just different ways! There are many portrait artists out there that do a similar style and if you know them\, that will only enhance your knowledge base for this class. If you don’t\, you’ll still do a great job! Not one portrait will ever be the same! That is really what Laura loves about Playful Portraits. \nPlease bring a photo of someone you would like to create. Laura and her sister created portraits of each other! \nClass fee is $55.00 for MSQG Guild Members or $65.00 for non-members. The class fee includes your kit and the additional supply list is minimal (mainly scraps) – plus there is NO precutting homework! Please note that all class fees will increase by $10 if received AFTER Dec. 8th\, 2026. Space is limited. Class will be held at the Live Oak Grange\,120 Gardiner\, Rogue River\, OR\, 97537 \nTo Register:  You can obtain the registration form (with pricing information) by clicking here.  Just print and complete the form then mail it along with your payment to the address on the form. Your payment MUST accompany your registration. \nLaura has been quilting for 40 years. Her Long Arm business\, Cotton Creek Quilting Co.\, keeps her busy and she loves it! She is also the 2026-2027 President of Mountain Stars Quilters Guild and is looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Class fee for non-members is $60.00 if paid by August 10\, 2026 and $65.00 thereafter. Space is limited. Class will be held at the Live Oak Grange (120 Gardiner Street\, Rogue River\, OR).  The class requirements list will be provided after you sign up for the class. \nTo Register:  You can obtain the registration form (with pricing information) by clicking here.  Just print and complete the form then mail it along with your payment to the address on the form. She believes there’s always something for everyone when it comes to quilting\, and that quilters have a strong bond unlike anything else. Linda has been featured in a variety of quilting magazines with her quilts and has had the privilege of being on Simply Quilts in two different seasons.
